S.M. Helbig Ashes To Ashes Prequel Launch

I launched Ashes to Ashes – The Street Cricket Wars Prequel quietly along with the Billy Boss Whodunit series over Christmas 2015. It made it to #3 on the Aussie Amazon children’s sport category which was also great and got interest in the UK as well. All of this helped renew interest in Demanding The Ashes – Street Cricket Wars #1 and the Street Cricket Wars Compilation #1-5.

How To Load An eBook Onto A Kindle eReader In 7 Steps

HOW TO LOAD AN EBOOK ONTO A KINDLE EREADER IN 7 STEPS

This article will show you how to load an eBook (and PDFs and JPGs) from your computer or email onto your Kindle eReader in 7 easy steps. Loading books onto a Kindle that didn't come from the Kindle store is sometimes also called side loading.

If you've received your free S.M. Helbig eBooks and you need help sending them to your eReader then scroll down just follow the steps. If you haven't signed up for the free Street Cricket Wars children's eBooks click the link on the left to get your three free books now! Available for most devices.

  • Use the following method to put any of these files onto your Kindle: .MOBI (eBook file), PDF, JPG
  • The free books you downloaded from me for Kindle will all be .mobi files

N.B. It will not work for .EPUB files (see video at end called “How To Load eBooks on the Kindle Fire HD 8.9” for how to convert an .ePub to a .mobi to load onto a kindle)

1. Save eBook to your PC/Computer/Laptop

Right click on the eBook link on the website and “Save link as” and save it to your desktop so it's easy to locate later.

(If the PC says it can't open it that's fine as you probably don't have Kindle on your computer)

2. Open A New Email To Send

3. Write Your Kindle email in the address field of a new email

You need your Kindle email to send eBooks to your Kindle device.

Your Kindle email is [Your Amazon user name]@kindle.com

Usually it will look like this: name@free.kindle.com and name@kindle.com

Adding free to the email forces it to use wifi only to load it.

What if you don't know your Kindle email?

There are 2 ways to find your kindle email which you'll use to send eBooks to your Kindle.

3a. Open your Kindle and Click on:

Menu > Settings > email

3b. Login to Amazon and find your kindle email under:

Manage Your Content And Devices > Settings > Personal Document Settings > Send to email settings

Manage Your Device on Amazon

4. Attach the .mobi book file you want to load onto your Kindle to the email

2.a. Click the attach document icon on the new email and locate the eBook .mobi file you want to send to your Kindle and click on it to attach

2.b. Check it's now attached to the email

2.c. Alternatively, many computers will allow you to drag the eBook file onto the email to attach it

Note: If you were emailed the .mobi you can simply forward it to your Kindle email

5. Press send

6. Open Your Kindle, Open the Menu and Click: Sync, Refresh or Check For Updates

Let the books download and enjoy!

Actually, it was really 6 steps. The 7th is something I really hope you'll do for me once you've read the books! 🙂

7. Please post an honest review on Amazon of my books once you've read them!

Reader reviews are so important for me as it helps new readers decide whether or not to read my books! I'm really grateful for every honest review I get.

When you post a review please email me and let me know you posted it. You can email me on the email that I sent the links to your free books from.

Getting Hit In The Nuts Playing Cricket

My latest story series, Street Cricket Wars, starts with a reference to getting hit in the nuts playing cricket.

I know I will get some complaints over that, but I am known for my *weird humour* and throwing things in out of left field. And, what better analogy to pain than being hit in the nuts with a cricket ball!?

So, let's talk about this excruciating topic….

Fact #1: There is almost nothing more feared than being hit in the nuts in front of a crowd of mates

Every guy knows what it feels like and why no one wants to go down like a stack of cards like that. It can be one of the most embarrassing things ever. And let’s be honest, who wants to be falling to the ground with uncontrollable pain in front of the opposition that you need to look strong in front of? No one.

It doesn’t matter if you’re playing back yard street cricket or playing school cricket or playing at a local cricket club or in front of your country in international cricket. No man wants their crowning achievement for a game to be that of getting hit in the nuts.

Fact #2: Every male will experience the dreaded pain sometime in their life – even the famous

Unfortunately, there is one guy who is famous for exactly being hit in the nuts.

He is South African Batsman, Faf du Plessis is renowned for being the batsman most hit in the nuts by the cricket ball while playing international cricket.

He played as #3 order batsman for the Proteas in 2014. Faf du Plessis is no wimp, but he’s damn unlucky. So unlucky that he came up with an ultimate form of protection for himself – a custom made home-made box he calls “the beast”. He says it does the job and he can take any kind of fast ball knock to the nuts and won’t feel it now. He’s very good humoured about the nasty, dreaded thing of getting it in the nuts.

Check out Faf du Plessis video on protecting yourself  from being hit in the nuts playing cricket:

If you enjoyed listening to Faf du Plessis's little solution to one big, unlucky problem, then you might enjoy reading my Street Cricket Wars series.

Street Cricket Wars #1 Demanding The Ashes

I write *weird humor* and there are five books in the serial, each episode following teenager and cricket fanatic Fred Black as he tries to solve one almighty problem with the only thing he knows how to do well; cricket.

Fred thinks he can stop his School’s biggest bully with some clever deals and some quick batting moves and neat bowling tricks.

However, unlike Faf du Plessis who solved the problem of getting hit in the nuts, Fred Black just seems to get himself in more and more trouble.

You can check out the opening of Street Cricket Wars #1 called Demanding the Ashes here on Kindle. Use the “look inside” option to see how Fred compares school to being hit in the nuts.

Do you think it's a fair comparison or is Fred being tunnel visioned?

Happy batting!
