HOW TO LOAD AN EBOOK ONTO A KINDLE EREADER IN 7 STEPS
This article will show you how to load an eBook (and PDFs and JPGs) from your computer or email onto your Kindle eReader in 7 easy steps. Loading books onto a Kindle that didn't come from the Kindle store is sometimes also called side loading.
If you've received your free S.M. Helbig eBooks and you need help sending them to your eReader then scroll down just follow the steps. If you haven't signed up for the free Street Cricket Wars children's eBooks click the link on the left to get your three free books now! Available for most devices.
- Use the following method to put any of these files onto your Kindle: .MOBI (eBook file), PDF, JPG
- The free books you downloaded from me for Kindle will all be .mobi files
N.B. It will not work for .EPUB files (see video at end called “How To Load eBooks on the Kindle Fire HD 8.9” for how to convert an .ePub to a .mobi to load onto a kindle)
1. Save eBook to your PC/Computer/Laptop
Right click on the eBook link on the website and “Save link as” and save it to your desktop so it's easy to locate later.
(If the PC says it can't open it that's fine as you probably don't have Kindle on your computer)
2. Open A New Email To Send
3. Write Your Kindle email in the address field of a new email
You need your Kindle email to send eBooks to your Kindle device.
Your Kindle email is [Your Amazon user name]@kindle.com
Usually it will look like this: firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com
Adding free to the email forces it to use wifi only to load it.
What if you don't know your Kindle email?
There are 2 ways to find your kindle email which you'll use to send eBooks to your Kindle.
3a. Open your Kindle and Click on:
Menu > Settings > email
3b. Login to Amazon and find your kindle email under:
Manage Your Content And Devices > Settings > Personal Document Settings > Send to email settings
4. Attach the .mobi book file you want to load onto your Kindle to the email
2.a. Click the attach document icon on the new email and locate the eBook .mobi file you want to send to your Kindle and click on it to attach
2.b. Check it's now attached to the email
2.c. Alternatively, many computers will allow you to drag the eBook file onto the email to attach it
Note: If you were emailed the .mobi you can simply forward it to your Kindle email
5. Press send
6. Open Your Kindle, Open the Menu and Click: Sync, Refresh or Check For Updates
Let the books download and enjoy!
Actually, it was really 6 steps. The 7th is something I really hope you'll do for me once you've read the books! 🙂
7. Please post an honest review on Amazon of my books once you've read them!
Reader reviews are so important for me as it helps new readers decide whether or not to read my books! I'm really grateful for every honest review I get.
When you post a review please email me and let me know you posted it. You can email me on the email that I sent the links to your free books from.
Also, do let me know if you'd like to be part of my First-Reader team. You'll get special access to my books before they're released and get to give me your feedback on them and contribute to them being better books!
Thanks in advance 🙂
